Meet Quarantinopoly
Quarantinopoly is a prototype of the famous board game Monopoly. This time you will see it in a different form - like a painting. The main painting is a Quarantinopoly (Quarantine + Monopoly) game board that will guide spectators during the exhibition. The viewer does not have to make moves or build hotels. His duty is to identify with the painting.
"I chose this board game because it was one of my favorite games during my childhood. The quarantine has ended and we are able to gather together again. We went through a difficult period - losing our jobs, isolating ourselves from our loved ones, however, we had more time to be with ourselves and to get to know ourselves better. Each painting has its own history of surviving the quarantine period, so take a good look at the details." says Renata.
The monopoly board was converted into the Quarantinopoly board. In the factory premises you will find bigger versions of the Quarantinopoly board squares: a lion in a tuxedo - it represents big businesses ruining the little ones; fogged up glasses - consequence of wearing masks; Thomas Shelby's portrait, the main character of The Peaky Blinders TV series represents the most popular quarantine activity - series binge-watching.
Chance cards represent our lives before the quarantine: travel, freedom, happiness. The main colors used in these paintings are red and grey.
Community chest represent our lives during the quarantine. Each painting has a phrase we face every day, especially during the quarantine: “Go big or go home”, “Fake it till you make it”, “Support living artists”, “Partners in crime”, “Age is only a number ”.
